Little Uno and Big Deuce Race Report (Open Water Swimming )

It was another short and beautiful drive down 751 last Saturday to the FSSeries Little Uno/Big Deuce open water races in Jordan Lake.  The weather held out and proved to be perfect for open water.
The overcast sky was ideal for sighting and noone needed dark goggles.  With two races there were a lot of people to check in and the 2-milers got a bit of a late start following the open water clinic.  One milers started 10 minutes later and all starts began in waist-deep water.  Water temperature was 82 F.  Chip timing gave quick and accurate results.
It was great to see team DAMA well represented.  In the 2-mile: Colleen Cunningham, Rich Heany, Roland Klober and myself.  And in the 1-mile: Dana Dubis, Dawn Franklin, Mary Anna Hovey, Rhiannon Kincaid, Nicole Popovich, and Tim Wilson.  Some of us got together afterwards for breakfast while others went on a training ride or run.
